Choosing the Perfect Mattress for You

93% of GPs agree that a good, comfortable and supportive bed will improve sleep quality. So, what makes a good, comfortable and support bed? One of the major factors in a comfortable bed is the quality of the mattress. The mattress should hold your spine in correct alignment which is basically level. The body should not slump too much into the mattress or be too firm which would not offer support in relation to contouring your body. A very good bed for supporting the body is the memory foam divan beds.
The correct firmness is vital for each individual sleeper depending on weight, build, size and age. If your mattress doesn't provide this correct support, you may develop aches and pains and your sleep will be disturbed. It is estimated that a good quality bed can increase quality sleep by one hour per day.
People can feel pressured to buying the wrong bed by salesmen so one of the most accurate ways in which to judge if a bed is correct for you is by your body weight. For instance, if your are a lighter weight weight then a softer mattress can help your perfect sleeping solution whereas if you are heavier a firmer mattress will be required to support your spine correctly.
Here is a rough guide as to your body weight in relation to mattress support.
- Softer Springing – body weights up to 11 stone (70 kg)
- Medium Springing – body weights from 11 to 16 stone (70 – 102 kg)
- Firmer Springing – body weights over 16 stone (102 kg)
