Pick A Pillow
You may not know it, but your pillow is almost as important as your mattress (and we all know how important it is to get a good quality bed such as the patron memory foam bed) to help you get a good night's sleep and keep your spine in good shape. A good pillow for your favorite sleeping position can help alleviate neck and back pain that can lead to sleep deprivation, stiffness, soreness, and serious spinal problems. If you aren't sure what type of pillow will work best for you, here are some ideas:
If you sleep on your stomach, you need to use a soft, thin pillow so that your head doesn't end up above your spine.
If you sleep on your back, your pillow should be supportive but not too stiff or high. If your pillow is too high, it will strain your neck and leave you sore in the morning. If you sleep on your side, you should use a thick pillow that will keep your neck in line with your spine. If you snore, try a pillow that conforms to your head and helps your nose and throat stay open. This pillow will allow you to breathe more easily as you sleep on your back. If you change positions frequently, find a pillow that is both soft and supportive so that you can use it on either your side or your back. If you have allergies, buy an allergy-free pillow made from synthetic materials. Some pillows even have allergen-reducing properties and won't collect dust and dander over time.
Really, there is no such thing as a "perfect pillow." There's only a pillow that's perfect for you. When you're pillow shopping, take time to look at labels and give potential pillows a squeeze.
A great addition to a good pillow is a supporting mattress - check out our backcare collection for a range of great supportive divan beds.
