Feng Shei and the Bedroom

Ever heard of Feng Shui? It is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to utilise the laws of heaven and earth to help improve life by harmonising the environment and raining positive energy or qi. It has been used for thousands of years in China and is becoming very popular in the West. You can create a more harmonious environment in your home by studying and applying Feng Shui.
Your bedroom is part of your inner sanctum and to keep the bedroom as a calm and relaxed area you need to avoid the negative energy known as Chi from building. You can reduce negative Chi by following these steps:
- Ensure your bedroom as far away from your front door. This keeps the room calm and protected. Also, keep your bed away from windows and doors to prevent the negative flow of Chi
- Make sure your bed faces the door which will add Feng Shui security in the room
- If you have an en suite in your bedroom make sure the door is closed and water can harness negative Chi
- Don't sleep with your head near the window as this can make you feel tired in the morning
- Try to have a strong headbord which will help you recharge your own positive qi whilst you sleep
- If you share the bed ensure that any cabinets at the side match to keep the atmosphere harmonised
- Keep all lighting soft and never have hard lighting over the bed. The bedroom is a Yin environment and hard lighting works contrary to this.
- Finally, keep the underneath of your bed clear and uncluttered.
You can use Feng Shui to improve the energy in your bedroom so all you need now is the right bed. How about a nice contemporary wooden bed?
