Feng Shui and Better Sleep (part II)

Wow, it seems like we had lots of great feed back from our Feng Shui in the bedroom post so we contacted a feng shui specialist to ask for more tips on feng shui in the bedroom. So here are a few more tips for you courtesy of Tranquility Beds.
- Don't put the foot of your bed in direct alignment with your bedroom door as the negative Chi enters each room through the door. You don't want this energy flowing over you body so move your bed so you can view the door but so that it is not directly aligned. If you have no choice but to place the bed in front of the door then place a potted plant or ottoman in front of the bed as a barricade.
- Any electrical items such as desks, computers and exercise equipment should be taken out of the bedroom which should be solely associated with sleep and rest. If you have no choice then at least put the equipment behind a screen.
- Don't have your clock radio within 4-6 feet of your head. This equipment lets off electromagnetic fields which are bad, bad, bad for sleep and your health in the long term!
- Get rid of that white paint you have on the walls. Instead, opt for a more subtle, relaxing pastel colour which helps you relax mentally. Stark walls can cause the feeling of tension and depression. not good.
- Try not to have furniture with sharp corners. These are called 'poison arrows' in the ancient practise of Feng Shui as this can intensify negative Chi.
- Get clutter free. Get rid of any clutter that you don't need and this can affect the flow of positive energy.
- Any rooms that contain water can cause active energy disturbing your rest and relaxation.
Well, we hope that you enjoyed our second installment of Feng Shui but remember the best way to get a great nights sleep is to buy a good quality bed and mattress. We suggest a nice contemporary wooden bed which will allow the energy to free flow...but then we would wouldn't we :)
